Harry R. Halloran Jr. / Chief Executive Officer, Executive Chairman of the Board

 

Mr. Halloran is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of the Board of American Refining Group. He is also the Chairman and CEO of ARG Resources. Mr. Halloran is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in civil engineering. After graduating, he entered the Augustinian seminary for four years and earned a Master of Arts degree in theology.

Mr. Halloran is founder and CEO of Energy Unlimited,Inc., a company involved in the renewable-energy field, and has served on the board of The American Wind Energy Association. Other past positions include Trustee of Villanova University, College of Commerce and Finance; and Trustee of The Academy of Natural Sciences. He is also the Founding Trustee of The Enlightened World Foundation and the Halloran Foundation. He is a member of the Caux Round Table and serves on the Board of The Journal of Ecumenical Studies. Mr. Halloran founded Halloran Philanthropies in 2007 with the belief that business is one of the most powerful drivers for positive social change. The purpose of Halloran Philanthropies is to help create a healthier world community that promotes economic development through microfinance, global business ethics and community service to revitalize low-income neighborhoods.

 

Jon Giberson / President, Chief Operating Officer

 

Mr. Giberson joined ARG as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2019. He is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of ARG's operational policies, objectives and initiatives, as well as for the attainment of short- and long-term financial and operational goals. Mr. Giberson is charged with directing ARG's development to ensure future growth. Prior to joining ARG, he served as Vice President/General Manager – Americas at Sonneborn Inc. Mr. Giberson holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester, and went on to complete a Master of Business Administration in marketing and finance from St. Bonaventure. He completed executive education at Harvard University Graduate School of Business and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. 

 

 

John Malone / Vice President, Sales & Marketing 

 

Mr. Malone joined ARG as Vice President, Sales & Marketing, in 2019. Most recently, Mr. Malone served as director of strategic marketing and sales with API Heat Transfer in Buffalo, N.Y. He brings to ARG more than 20 years of experience in technical sales, marketing, business development and executive leadership in the base oils, lubricants and industrial markets. Mr. Malone’s will guide ARG's sales and marketing efforts in achieving its vision to be the trusted partner for specialty refining solutions. A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Mr. Malone earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from SUNY Buffalo, and went on to complete a Master of Business Administration in finance and marketing from Northeastern University in Boston. He was honored as a Kellogg Executive Scholar in marketing at Northwestern University. His professional memberships include the National Fluid Power Association, Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals and the Association of National Advertisers. He is a Certified Lubrication Specialist through the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). 

 

Brian J. Zolkos / Chief Financial Officer

 

Brian J. Zolkos joined American Refining Group as Chief Financial Officer in 2011. Mr. Zolkos has overall responsibility for Accounting, Crude Disbursements and Information Technology. He is responsible for banking relationships, and the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, daily operations of the accounting department and for all federal and state tax compliance and reporting. Mr. Zolkos earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration degree, also in finance, from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining ARG, Mr. Zolkos was vice president of finance at PLS Logistics Services in Cranberry, Pa.

 

Robin Augustine / Senior Vice President, Operations

 

Robin Augustine joined American Refining Group in July 2015 as Vice President of Operations. Prior to that Mr. Augustine held a number of executive roles with manufacturers in Canada and the United States. He has 12 years of experience in lubricants and refining with Suncor. Mr. Augustine is responsible for overall operation of ARG’s Bradford refinery and its blending and packaging facilities. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration degree from the university’s Rotman School of Management.

 

William Murray / Vice President, Crude Supply and Logistics

 

Mr. Murray joined ARG as Manager of Crude Oil Operations, Western Division, in 2004 and was named Vice President of Crude Oil Acquisition in 2008. Named Vice President of Supply Chain/Logistics in 2011, Mr. Murray directs the organization's purchasing and logistical activities. He is responsible for all ARG crude-supply and -acquisition activities including the company’s crude-terminal and -gathering operations in Ohio. He is also a former vice president of ARG Resources. Prior to joining ARG, Mr. Murray served as VP Exploration and Production at Belden & Blake Corp. Mr. Murray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Marietta College in Ohio.

 

David O. Krantz / Vice President, Research and Development

 

David O. Krantz joined American Refining Group as Vice President of Research and Development in 2011. Mr. Krantz has overall responsibility for the Research and Development Laboratory, the Quality Control Laboratory, Technical Service, New Product Development and the ISO quality-management system. Mr. Krantz earned Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry and natural science from Muhlenberg College and a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University. Prior to joining ARG, Mr. Krantz was vice president of operations at Restek Inc. in Bellefonte, Pa., and president of Glastron Inc. in Vineland, N.J. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Chemical Society.

 

David Breitigam / Vice President, Environmental Health and Safety

 

Mr. Breitigam joined American Refining Group in June 2017.  He oversees ARG's organizational compliance with local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations, including process safety management (PSM).  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental health from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree in Occupational Health from the Medical College of Ohio.  He is a certified safety professional and industrial hygienist and holds the Prosci® change-management certification.  Prior to joining ARG, Mr Breitigam spent 12 years working in the EHS field with Marathon Petroleum eventually being named Corporate Refining Health, Environmental, Safety and Security Manager.

 

Sarah Hayden / Director of Human Resources

 

Ms. Hayden joined American Refining Group in 2005 as Human Resource Generalist. She is responsible for the development and delivery of an integrated approach to human capital strategies, policies, procedures, programs and solutions that are aligned with strategic business objectives, as well as the company's vision, mission and core values. Ms. Hayden earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and holds the PHR (Professional Human Resource) certification. Prior to ARG, she worked as Workforce Development Manager for North Central PA Regional Planning and Development Commission.

 

Richard Smith / Vice President and General Counsel

Mr. Smith joined ARG as vice president and general counsel in 2008. He had previously been a partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Duane Morris, practicing corporate law, and had represented ARG as outside counsel for more than 20 years. Mr. Smith earned his law degree at Boston University in 1980, and is a 1973 graduate of Dartmouth College.
