ARG employees raise funds for local non-profits
American Refining Group Inc. (ARG) employees this summer undertook two fundraisers netting a total of $1,326 for local non-profits First Night Bradford and the YWCA.
A collection of various gift cards, valued at $450 and donated by the company’s Leadership Team, was offered via raffle to employees and their families at its annual family picnic in July. The raffle raised $526 – $500 of which was matched by ARG’s Employee Matching Gifts Program for a total donation of $1,026. ARG’s Picnic Committee Chairman and Logistics Coordinator Jacob DeVolder, presented the check to YWCA Executive Director Vanessa Castano on Aug. 2.
Senior Research & Development Chemist John Peterson was also on hand to present a check to First Night Bradford Co-chairperson Don Martyna. Peterson organized the ARG golf outing at Pine Acres Country Club in which 21 teams participated and supported a 50/50 raffle to benefit First Night. The raffle netted $150 and a $150 company match for a total donation of $300.
With a philanthropic spirit that is cultivated corporately and encouraged in its employees, ARG focuses its charitable giving on education, economic development, human services and health care.
