Harry R. Halloran Jr. / Executive Chairman of the Board
Mr. Halloran is the Executive Chairman of the Board of American Refining Group. He is also the Chairman and CEO of ARG Resources. Mr. Halloran is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in civil engineering. After graduating, he entered the Augustinian seminary for four years and earned a Master of Arts degree in theology.
Mr. Halloran is founder and CEO of Energy Unlimited, Inc., a company involved in the renewable-energy field, and has served on the board of The American Wind Energy Association. Other past positions include Trustee of Villanova University, College of Commerce and Finance; and Trustee of The Academy of Natural Sciences. He is also the Founding Trustee of The Enlightened World Foundation and the Halloran Foundation. He is a member of the Caux Round Table and serves on the Board of The Journal of Ecumenical Studies. Mr. Halloran founded Halloran Philanthropies in 2007 with the belief that business is one of the most powerful drivers for positive social change. The purpose of Halloran Philanthropies is to help create a healthier world community that promotes economic development through microfinance, global business ethics and community service to revitalize low-income neighborhoods.
Timothy Brown / Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Brown was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2015 after having served as Executive Vice President since 2011. Mr. Brown was named Vice President of Refinery Sales and Marketing in 2008 and in 2010 became Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, a post in which he was responsible for the sale and marketing of ARG’s refinery outputs including: fuels, solvents, base oils and waxes. Prior to being appointed a vice president, Mr. Brown held the position of Director of Refinery Sales. Mr. Brown has more than 15 years of experience in the lubricant and petroleum industries. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University.
Jeannine T. Schoenecker / President, Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Schoenecker joined ARG as Assistant Controller in 1985. Later that year, she assumed the position of Controller and in 1991 she was promoted to Vice President of Accounting. Ms. Schoenecker assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer in 2008. She assumed the role of president and chief operating officer in 2011. She is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of ARG's operational policies, objectives and initiatives, as well as for the attainment of short- and long-term financial and operational goals. Ms. Schoenecker is charged with directing ARG's development to ensure future growth. Ms. Schoenecker is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. Ms. Schoenecker holds a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Robert C. Esch / Vice President, External Affairs
Mr. Esch was named Vice President of Blending and Packaging in 1998 and became Vice President of External Affairs in 2011. Mr. Esch directs the organization's policies and objectives involving local, state and federal government affairs by monitoring and analyzing proposed legislative and regulatory actions. Mr. Esch earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Bonaventure University.
William Murray / Vice President, Supply Chain/Logistics
Mr. Murray joined ARG as Manager of Crude Oil Operations, Western Division, in 2004 and was named Vice President of Crude Oil Acquisition in 2008. Named Vice President of Supply Chain/Logistics in 2011, Mr. Murray directs the organization's purchasing and logistical activities. He is responsible for all ARG crude-supply and -acquisition activities including the company’s crude-terminal and -gathering operations in Ohio. He is also a former vice president of ARG Resources. Prior to joining ARG, Mr. Murray served as VP Exploration and Production at Belden & Blake Corp. Mr. Murray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Marietta College in Ohio.
David O. Krantz / Vice President, Research and Development
David O. Krantz joined American Refining Group as Vice President of Research and Development in 2011. Mr. Krantz has overall responsibility for the Research and Development Laboratory, the Quality Control Laboratory, Technical Service, New Product Development and the ISO quality-management system. Mr. Krantz earned Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry and natural science from Muhlenberg College and a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University. Prior to joining ARG, Mr. Krantz was vice president of operations at Restek Inc. in Bellefonte, Pa., and president of Glastron Inc. in Vineland, N.J. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Chemical Society.
Brian J. Zolkos / Chief Financial Officer
Brian J. Zolkos joined American Refining Group as Chief Financial Officer in 2011. Mr. Zolkos has overall responsibility for Accounting, Crude Disbursements and Information Technology. He is responsible for banking relationships, and the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, daily operations of the accounting department and for all federal and state tax compliance and reporting. Mr. Zolkos earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration degree, also in finance, from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining ARG, Mr. Zolkos was vice president of finance at PLS Logistics Services in Cranberry, Pa.
Robin Augustine / Vice President, Operations
Robin Augustine joined American Refining Group in July 2015 as Vice President of Operations. Prior to that Mr. Augustine held a number of executive roles with manufacturers in Canada and the United States. He has 12 years of experience in lubricants and refining with Suncor. Mr. Augustine is responsible for overall operation of ARG’s Bradford refinery and its blending and packaging facilities. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration degree from the university’s Rotman School of Management.
Sarah Hayden / Director of Human Resources
Ms. Hayden joined American Refining Group in 2005 as Human Resource Generalist. She is responsible for the development and delivery of an integrated approach to human capital strategies, policies, procedures, programs and solutions that are aligned with strategic business objectives, as well as the company's vision, mission and core values. Ms. Hayden earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and holds the PHR (Professional Human Resource) certification. Prior to ARG, she worked as Workforce Development Manager for North Central PA Regional Planning and Development Commission.
Stephen Sherk / Director of Environmental and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. Sherk joined ARG as Environmental Manager in 2000 and served in that position until 2003. From November 2003 until July 2004 he served as Environmental and Safety Manager. In July 2004, Mr. Sherk assumed leadership for ARG’s environmental, health and safety compliance. Mr. Sherk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science from Slippery Rock State University in Pennsylvania, graduating in 1976. Mr. Sherk formerly served as HSE Manager at a Honeywell Corp. facility in Farmers Valley, Pa., prior to joining ARG.
Neal Zuzik / Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development
Mr. Zuzik was named ARG's Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development in 2016. Prior to joining ARG, he served as Valvoline's vice president of global supply chain, leading its global purchasing, indirect procurement, logistics and customer service teams. Mr. Zuzik earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology/pre-medicine from St. Vincent College in Latrobe and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree in supply chain management and finance from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He is a member of the St. Vincent College McKenna School of Business Advisory Council.
Richard Smith / Vice President and General Counsel
Mr. Smith joined ARG as vice president and general counsel in 2008. He had previously been a partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Duane Morris, practicing corporate law, and had represented ARG as outside counsel for more than 20 years. Mr. Smith earned his law degree at Boston University in 1980, and is a 1973 graduate of Dartmouth College.
